NIOS secondary exam is conducted by the NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) board. Who can apply for NIOS secondary exam?

Following are the eligibility criteria to apply for NIOS secondary examination.

  • The candidate must have crossed his/her 14th birthday.
  • The candidate who has passed 8th class at the age of 14 year is eligible for a secondary examination.
  • The candidate who has already appeared for the 10th board and wants to improve their marks can apply for NIOS secondary examination.

When does the NIOS conducts board exam?

The NIOS conducts the secondary board exam twice a year that is in March and October. Besides these specific months, the board offers another option known as ‘Exam on Demand’ that is EOD. Through EOD board helps the student to pass the exam within 45 days. The board conducts the exam at various regional examination centers of the country. The exams are conducted according to the NIOS Class 10 syllabus.

NIOS Admission Procedure  

The NIOS application form for secondary examination that is equivalent to the 10th exam is available online on the official website of NIOS. The candidate must fill the application form before the due date to avoid any penalty or delay fee. The school can also formally fill the form on behalf of the student.

The candidate can access the syllabus from the official website www.nios.ac.in. The student can download the NIOS class 10 syllabus and can save it as a PDF for further reference. The syllabus provides information about the ten topics to be asked in the NIOS exam.

NIOS Secondary exam timetable 

Few days after the declaration of the exam initiation date the board releases the timetable and schedule for the 10th board exam that bears the practical and written exam dates. Candidates can visit the official website of NIOS www.nios.ac.in to view and download the timetable or date sheet.

NIOS Exam Hall ticket 

Hall ticket is a crucial document to appear for the NIOS 10th examination. The NIOS does not allow students to enter the examination hall without the hall ticket hence, it is a mandatory document. The hall ticket contains all relevant details about the student which includes the candidate’s name, candidate’s father’s name, roll number, exam center details, and the secondary exam-related rules and regulations.

If the student finds any incorrect information in the admit card, then the student must notify the school authorities. For this reason, NIOS distributed the admit card through affiliated schools.

NIOS Exam result

NIOS declares the exam result on the official website. The complete procedure of checking the answer sheets and incorporating results takes approximately six weeks from the date of examination. To access the exam result the candidate must enter the roll number and the given unique captcha on the result page to download their result.
